Nothing happens, no one comes by .so he says, anyway. - But the pictures tell a very different story! There are the Three Bears and Goldilocks; The Three Little Pigs building their houses; Little Red Riding Hood and a Big Bad Wolf; a witch flying about on a broomstick; Humpty Dumpty climbing up on to a wall; a giant stamping about the countryside; a cat and a fiddle and a cow jumping over the moon. All around the little boy exciting things are happening - but at the end of the day, the little boy yawns and tells his father, "Nothing much happened round here today"! Vivian French's books include the fiction titles "Zenobia and Mouse", "Under the Moon" and "Tillie McGillie's Fantastical Chair" the picture books "Princess Primrose", "Lazy Jack" (1995) and "A Song for Little Toad" (1995) and the Read and Wonder books "The Apple Trees", "Spider Watching" and "Caterpiller Caterpiller" (shortlisted for the Kurt Maschler Award). John Prater is the author and illustrator of "On Friday Something Funny Happened" which was runner-up for The Mother Goose Award, "No, said Joe" an.
