Barrister Malcolm Ross is awakened late one evening by pounding on his door. The police have an urgent request from Margaret Trelawny, a woman who has bewitched Ross. Margaret’s father, who collects ancient Egyptian antiquities, is in a coma and is suffering from a mysterious life-threatening injury. Margaret hopes she can trust Ross to protect her from the threat. As the plot unfolds, Margaret’s father seems to have attempted to raise from the dead the mummy of Tera, an ancient Egyptian queen, Amid bloody scenes, his daughter is possessed by Tera's soul. Novel's History Bram Stoker’s The Jewel of Seven Stars was originally published with a horrific climax that caused controversy, revulsion and great delight from fans of the master horror novelist. Before his death, however, Stoker’s publisher warned the author that he would have to change the ending if he wished to reprint it in 1912. As a result, the text was changed before Stoker’s death. This 1903 edition includes Chapter XVI "Powers – Old and New", replaced in later versions with a happy ending.

Bram Stoker was an invalid as a child but later excelled as an athlete. After a stint in the Civil Service, he worked as the business manager of a theatre in London. He had the opportunity to meet many famous actors and to travel the world.
Stoker wrote many novels and stories, most of which were well - reviewed when they were first published, but 'Dracula' has exceeded the others in popularity. Like its famous villain, 'Dracula' refuses to grow old, feeding off each new fad in popular culture.
