Robert Lawrence Stine is one of the best-selling children s authors in history. He began his writing career at the age of nine writing short stories, joke books, and comic books for his friends and he s been at it ever since! After graduating from Ohio State University, Stine moved to New York and wrote joke books and humor books, and also created Bananas, a zany humor magazine, before he turned to the scary with the wildly successful Fear Street and Goosebumps series. These books made him an international celebrity and the number-one bestselling children s author according to Guinness World Records. In addition to these series, he published two original collections of scary stories--the New York Times bestseller Nightmare Hour and The Haunting Hour. Both Goosebumps and Nightmare Hour were adapted into popular TV series. He was also the editor of and a contributor to Beware!: R.L. Stine Picks His Favorite Scary Stories. Recently, he wrote the novels Dangerous Girls and Dangerous Girls 2: The Taste of Night. Stine lives in Manhattan with his wife, Jane.
